Founder & Professional Aromatherapist
Sandra’s interest in scent and aromatics was reawakened from her childhood days in England when she mischievously hid jars of concoctions under her bed which were filled with blooms from her mother’s garden.
During the early 90's after obtaining accreditation in aromatherapy, reflexology, holistic nutrition and homeopathy, Sandra began to cultivate her passion.
In 1993 Sandra founded two successful enterprises: a natural health retail operation, The Natural Nut Health Shop and Natural Sense Aromatherapy a wholesale distributorship. Over the years her businesses received accolades through several publications in industry magazines, newspapers, and interviews on CBC radio and television talk shows. The Royal Bank of Canada featured her in several of their publications and she was coined as one of their Champion Women Entrepreneurs. She also received an award from the Retail Council of Canada for being a socially responsible retailer.
After ten years in retail with two locations, Sandra decided to focus on her wholesale supply business which became one of Canada’s esteemed distributors of essential oils and spa products supplying hundreds of clients across Canada, the United States and beyond. Sandra is also a certified natural product advisor with the Canadian Health Food Association.
Sandra indicates that her professional training in aromatics began in the early 90's, training with one of North America's most renowned educators Michael Scholes. Sandra's acumen was further honed through her involvement with the Natural Oils Research Association (NORA) and gives credit to her mentors Dr. Maria Liz Balchin, Jane Buckle, Rae Dunphy, Sylla Sheppard-Hanger, and Dr. Dietrich Wabner.
In 2006 Sandra’s first grandchild was born with some quirky physical abnormalities. It was a very stressful time, the little one required medical care at The Hospital for Sick Children, and to top it off Sandra was also caring for her aging mother. Sandra's role was now stepped up to 'Medical Advocate & Taxi driver'. In 2007 when it became clear that the little one would face a lifetime of medical fragility due to the eventual diagnoses of a rare connective tissue disorder known as Loeys-Dietz syndrome, Sandra decided to sell Natural Sense Aromatherapy, and the business remains today, successful under new ownership.
Despite selling her business back in 2007 along with dozens of proprietary blends Sandra indicates that she didn’t sell her NOSE and her passion for scent remains along with hundreds of other formulas that compliment her repertoire in the craft of aromatic formulation and scent marketing. Now that Sandra’s granddaughter’s health is stable, Sandra is embarking on a new journey, once again reawakening her passion for scent and is excited that her daughter Leanne is following in her footsteps.

Leanne brings a decade of retailing and exceptional customer service to the forefront of Bespoke Aromatics' beliefs and passion.
"After growing up in a successful family business, where my siblings and I spent many hours (albeit aromatic) helping our mother in her stores, labeling bottles, and packaging orders, it makes perfect SCENTS for me to be involved with my mom with her latest venture and I'm thoroughly enjoying the aromatic journey."
